Vincent Vann, MD, PhD

Dr. Vann attended Harvard University and graduated with a bachelors degree in Biochemical Sciences with an Honors Thesis in Neuroscience. He received his MD/ PhD degrees from The University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. He obtained his PhD degree in Microbiology and Immunology specializing in the field of Virology. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, followed by a residency in Ophthalmology at the Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. His fellowship in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery was done at Retina and Vitreous of Texas in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Vann has authored numerous research papers and has served as an investigator for many retinal clinical trials. He has a keen interest in teaching, and in continuing to improve the success and delivery of treatments for blinding retinal disorders. He is an experienced vitreoretinal surgeon with expertise in managing Complex Retinal Detachments, Proliferative Vitreoretinopathy (PVR), Diabetic Retinopathy, Vein Occlusions, Epiretinal Membranes, Macular Holes, and Macular Degeneration.
Dr Vann practiced in south Texas for many years. He moved to Minneapolis and joined Retina Consultants of Minnesota in April 2025.
