Cynthia McClard, MD, PhD
Dr. McClard graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with high honors in the dual disciplines of English and Economics, under the Plan II Honors Program. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree and Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular and Human Genetics degree in the Medical Scientist Training Program at Baylor College of Medicine, in Houston, Texas.
She completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, followed by Ophthalmology residency training at Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Vitreoretinal Surgery fellowship at the Cincinnati Eye Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. McClard joined the Retina Consultants of Minnesota in 2025 and is an active member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Human Genetics.
