Christopher K. Hwang, MD, PhD
After receiving a degree in mathematics from Dartmouth College, Dr. Hwang completed the Medical Scientist Training Program and received combined MD/PhD degrees at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated in the top of his medical school class and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Hwang completed an intern year at ChristianaCare Hospital in Delaware and completed his ophthalmology residency at Scheie Eye Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was selected for the Heed Ophthalmic Foundation Fellowship award in his senior year. He then went to National Eye Institute at the National Institutes of Health to complete his fellowship in uveitis and ocular immunology/medical retina. He then completed his vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the Washington University in St Louis. He is an active member of American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialists, and American Uveitis Society.
Dr. Hwang joined Retina Consultants of Minnesota in 2022 and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
